About This Tour
Experience details and what makes this journey unique
Join a small group photo tour in Val d’Orcia, where rolling landscapes, misty mornings, and timeless villages create the perfect setting for photography. Led by experienced guides, the tour combines shooting in the field with practical lessons in composition, light, storytelling, and post-processing. You’ll stay in a beautiful villa surrounded by Tuscan hills, with pool and spa included, and enjoy a wine tasting at one of the world’s top five wineries.
Day-by-Day Itinerary
Complete daily schedule with locations and photography opportunities
Meet at Rome Fiumicino (T3) at 1 PM or at your hotel near the airport. After a short transfer into the heart of Val d’Orcia, we check into our stunning countryside villa, our base for the entire week. You’ll have time to settle in and relax before heading out for our first sunset session just steps away. Expect a premium stay with pool and spa included, gourmet local cuisine, and beautiful double rooms (single available on request), all with private bathrooms. Rolling hills, soft light, and iconic Tuscan views to start the week. (We recommend arriving in Italy one day early.)
We’re out before dawn for a classic: Podere Belvedere surrounded by mist and cypress silhouettes. If the fog plays along, we’ll move south of San Quirico for a second morning shoot. After breakfast and a post-processing masterclass, we head out again, sunset near Villa Gladiatore, then a twilight stroll in the ancient villages around our base. Gourmet dinner and fireside chats back at the villa.
Early light from the hills of classic spots reveals villas wrapped in morning fog, soft tones, long lenses, timeless beauty. After the session, we explore the town’s stone streets, coffee in hand. After lunch, we enjoy a wine tasting at Tassi, one of the world’s top 5 wineries, in a welcoming, modern estate surrounded by some of Tuscany’s most beautiful vineyards.
We begin at Crete Senesi, a lesser-known area with lunar landscapes perfect in sidelight. Then to Siena, where history is in every stone. After lunch, we head to another village for golden hour in a medieval setting. If the light or conditions suggest otherwise, we may opt for another rolling hills location
Sunrise near Cappella Vitaleta, one of the most photographed chapels in Italy, standing quietly among the curves of Val d’Orcia. After breakfast and a talk on composition, we plan the next days. Afternoon: up to Montalcino for fortress views, long lenses at work, then into town for street scenes and atmosphere.
Two lesser-known gems carved into volcanic tuff rock: Sorano and Pitigliano. These quiet, authentic towns are rich in textures, red bricks, mossy steps, flower pots, and silent alleys. Ideal for details and storytelling. Sunset shoot in Pitigliano before heading back for our final dinner together.
Even on the last day, we shoot. One last early session near the villa, soaking in the Tuscan morning mood. After breakfast and packing, we head back to Rome, arriving at the airport around 2 PM.
